The Municipality of Mariveles received the Ideal Functionality Rating from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) for its effective, transparent, and accountable monitoring of local government projects.
The recognition was granted following the results of the Local Project Monitoring Committee (LPMC) Functionality Assessment, an annual evaluation conducted by the DILG to measure how effectively local government units (LGUs) oversee, coordinate, and report on the progress of development projects within their areas.
According to the DILG, Mariveles met all key indicators, including the regular conduct of LPMC meetings, accurate documentation and timely submission of reports, strong inter-agency coordination, and adherence to transparency and accountability standards in the use of public funds.
“This recognition is a reflection of our commitment to serve with integrity, efficiency, and full accountability,” said Mayor AJ Concepcion. “We dedicate this achievement to every Mariveleño and will continue striving for excellence in public service.”
This is not the first time Mariveles has been recognized for good governance. In recent years, the municipality has also received awards for excellence in disaster preparedness, business friendliness, and local economic development. The Ideal Functionality Rating further cements its status as a model LGU in Central Luzon.
